S.2 Computer Literacy Visit to CUHK AI Education and Exploration Lab

2026-02-04
Building on the success of the previous academic year, Queen’s College has once again been selected as a "Champion School" under the "CUHK Jockey Club AI for the Future Project." To mark this continued partnership, the school recently organised a visit to the CUHK AI Education and Exploration Lab for our Secondary 2 students, offering them a unique opportunity to engage with the frontiers of modern technology. This excursion was designed to equip all S.2 students for their upcoming "AI for Social Good" group project in the second term. During the visit, students and teachers participated in a comprehensive, hands-on workshop centred on iPort, an AI education toolkit developed by the research team at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Using the iTrain platform, students learned to train their own AI models and connect various hardware components to control physical outputs based on AI classification. This practical exercise demonstrated how imaginative concepts can be transformed into functional applications, fostering a spirit of creative problem-solving. Beyond the workshop, students were given a guided tour of the laboratory to observe pioneering projects developed by the CUHK team. Witnessing these advanced applications first-hand was instrumental in broadening their horizons and provided tangible inspiration as they begin to conceptualise and refine ideas for their own collaborative projects. We are grateful to the CUHK AI Education and Exploration Lab for their hospitality and for sharing their expertise. As a Champion School, Queen's College remains committed to providing forward-looking educational experiences, and we eagerly anticipate the innovative solutions our S.2 students will produce in the project.
