氣墊船工作坊暨比賽 Microbit Hovercraft Workshop and Competition

2025-08-27
On 27 August 2025, our IT Committee successfully held the Micro:bit Hovercraft Workshop and Competition as a pre-school event for incoming S1 students. Organised by the IT Committee, the workshop aimed to stimulate students’ interest in STEAM, strengthen their programming and problem-solving abilities, and foster teamwork through interactive, practical learning. The programme began with an introduction to artificial intelligence and machine learning, followed by hands-on sessions where students assembled and programmed hovercrafts using the micro:bit platform. By integrating design, coding, and engineering concepts, participants developed both technical competence and creative thinking. The event concluded with an exciting competition in which student teams tested the speed, control, and efficiency of their hovercrafts in friendly races. The workshop provided an invaluable opportunity for the S1 students of Queen’s College to apply classroom knowledge in an authentic context. It not only enhanced their confidence in coding and engineering design but also nurtured collaboration and innovation, laying a strong foundation for their future engagement with STEAM education.
