The Biology Department and the Chemistry Department invited Professor Robert KO from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to deliver a talk related to Biochemical basis of 'Qi' for all S4 students and 5A Biology students on 11 Jan 2022. Professor KO investigated the pharmacological activities of Fructus Schisandrae, a commonly used Chinese herb for invigorating Qi of five visceral organs, in an effort to establish the biochemical basis of Qi-invigoration in Chinese medicine. He used interesting daily life examples to introduce the abstract concept of Qi, Chinese medicine and healthy lifestyle to students.
